About Us
The Pacific Paediatric Association (PPA) was established in May 2012 as an incorporated society, bringing together paediatricians and child health professionals from across the Pacific Islands in a spirit of collaboration and service.
Our Mission
Our mission is to advance the health and wellbeing of children and young people throughout the Pacific region by strengthening paediatric care, supporting professional growth, and advocating for equity in child health.
We achieve this by:
Facilitating professional development and peer learning opportunities
Supporting research and knowledge-sharing relevant to Pacific child health needs
Hosting the Pacific Paediatric Association Conference every two years, a regional gathering that strengthens networks, shares innovations, and celebrates Pacific identity
Advocating for policies and programmes that ensure equitable health outcomes
Fostering a strong network of paediatric and child health professionals across our island nations
The Association plays a vital role in addressing the unique health challenges faced by Pacific children. Through our bi-yearly conference, training, partnerships, and regional initiatives, we strive to improve healthcare delivery, enhance medical education, and contribute to the holistic development of our children and young people.
Together, with alofa and commitment, we work for a healthier Pacific future.
